Self-Reflection

Self-reflection gives us a chance to pause and look inward. It can help us better understand our choices and learn from our experiences. A few ways to practice it are shared below.

Journaling

When having hard feelings, journaling is a great way to reset the mind, especially when overthinking. A quick way to do so is to take a piece of paper and write down everything you are thinking, but below are some prompts if you aren’t sure what to do.

  • What are five things that you are grateful for?
  • What are five things that you have been obsessed with lately?
  • What are five songs that you love?
  • What are five foods you want to try?
  • What are five places you want to travel to?

Affirmations

Another great way to calm the mind is to self-talk and give yourself affirmations. The best way to do so is hold yourself, give yourself a hug, and repeat positive words to yourself. Here are some affirmations that you can use:

  • I am Loved
  • I am Worthy
  • I matter
  • I am doing my best
  • I am doing good enough
  • Everything will turn out fine
